Decreto n.º 6/97 de 16 de Janeiro Nos termos da alínea c) do n.º 1 do artigo 200.º da Constituição, o Governo decreta o seguinte: Artigo 1.º É aprovado o Acordo entre os Governos de Portugal e de Israel sobre upressão de Vistos, assinado em Jerusalém, em 29 de Dezembro de 1993, cujas versões em língua portuguesa e em língua inglesa seguem em anexo.
Artigo 2.º O disposto no Acordo referido no artigo anterior não dispensa o cumprimento prévio das formalidades constitucionais exigíveis para a vinculação do Estado Português.

Your Excellency: I have the honour to inform you that, in order to simplify the entry procedures into the Republic of Portugal and the State of Israel the Government of the Republic of Portugal is prepared to conclude with the Government of the State of Israel an Agreement in the following terms: 1 - Nationals of the Republic of Portugal who are holders of a valid Portuguese passport may travel to the State of Israel without previously obtaining an entry visa when going for a temporary stay, in transit, business or tourism.
2 - Nationals of the State of Israel who are holders of a valid Israeli passport may travel to the Republic of Portugal without previously obtaining an entry visa when going for a temporary stay, in transit, business or tourism.
3 - By temporary stay is understood a stay of no longer than 90 days which can be extended by the relevant authorities.
4 - Subject to the foregoing provisions, holders of valid Portuguese or Israeli passaports benefitting under this Agreement shall, while in the State of Israel or in the Republic of Portugal, comply with the laws and regulations applicable to foreigners in respect of entry and stay, and shall not take up any employment, whether paid or unpaid, nor practice for personal profit any professional or commercial activity unless proper authorisation has been given by the competent authorities of the country concerned.
