Por ordem superior se torna público ter a Colômbia depositado, junto do Secretário -Geral das Naçóes Unidas, em 11 de Novembro de 2003, o seu instrumento de ratificaçáo ao Protocolo Facultativo à Convençáo sobre os Direitos da Criança Relativo à Venda de Crianças, Prostituiçáo Infantil e Pornografia Infantil, adoptado em Nova Iorque em 25 de Maio de 2000.

Declaraçáo (traduçáo) (original: espanhol)

Concerning article 7 of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography, Colombia declares that, in accordance with its domestic legal system, it construes the penalty of 'confiscation' (confiscación) only as seizure or forfeiture during the penalty phase.

The Protocol will enter into force for Colombia on

11 December 2003 in accordance with its article 14 (2) which reads as follows:

'For each State ratifying the present Protocol or acceding to it after its entry into force, the present Protocol shall enter into force one month after the date of the deposit of its own instrument of ratification or accession'.
